Hosted by the Detroit Regional Chamber, the iconic “Mackinac Policy Conference” took place September 20 – 23, 2021 and spotlighted three pillars for cultivating a healthy Michigan – with focus to accelerate COVID-19 economic recovery, advance racial equity, and invest in the health of people and communities.

This year marked DPTV’s 11th year of coverage as we provide viewers with access to nearly all of the Conference’s sessions live and make them available for on-demand viewing.

A healthy Michigan also depends on good quality jobs. Kicked off in Mackinac, One Detroit launched its year-long initiative, The Future of Work. As part of the conference, “One Detroit” anchor Christy McDonald interviewed Walgreens Boots Alliance CEO, Rosalind Brewer about women in leadership. Throughout the week, McDonald, continued to interview local and national decision-makers on issues that impact viewers’ lives and community including the future of the auto industry, DEI in the workforce, and the healthcare industry.

Featured presenters included CNN Presidential Historian Douglas Brinkley; Rosalind Brewer, CEO of Walgreens; Michael Steele, Former Chairman of the Republican National Committee; Mayor of Detroit Mike Duggan; Governor Gretchen Whitmer; and more.
