On the next American Black Journal: Now that a federal moratorium on evictions has ended, we’ll look at how the COVID Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA) program can provide financial help for tenants who have fallen behind on their rent payments during the pandemic. In a special report produced in collaboration with the COVID313 Community Coalition of Families and Students, we’ll meet a Detroit family seeking assistance to stay in their home and learn how the CERA program works.

Plus, One Detroit senior producer Bill Kubota takes an in-depth look at facial recognition technology and why its use by law enforcement is so controversial, especially when it comes to identifying people of color.

And, Stephen talks with local storyteller and artist, Satori Shakoor, about her new role as host of Detroit Public TV’s new show, “Detroit Performs Live From Marygrove.”
