CCH Pounder: Most of us recognize award-winning actress CCH Pounder for her many television and movie roles. But what you may not know is that she’s also an avid art collector. An exhibition of her private collection is currently on display at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. It’s titled: “Queen,” and features paintings, sculptures and mixed media works that celebrate black womanhood, beauty and power. Will Glover sat down with the actress at the museum to discuss the exhibit. Watch the extended interview.
The Feeder Loft Launches Record Label: Luis Resto is an Oscar and Grammy award-winning musician and songwriter with a recording resume that ranges from Patti Smith and Iggy Pop to chart-topping hip hop artists such as Jay Z, B.o.B. and 50 Cent, and Eminem. Luis created The Feeder Loft which is located on the 3^rd floor of DeVries Cheese & Company in Eastern Market as a space for collaboration and live music. The Feeder Loft nurtures young, Detroit-based musicians by providing access to a positive space of established artists and educators. Salar Ansari is a talented Record Producer and the catalyst behind the start of Feeder Loft Records.

Performance: Oakland University School of Music, Theatre and Dance “Virtual Steel Band” presents a piece called “Rainmaker” (written by Patrick Fitzgibbon) that the class worked on earlier in the semester. Once classes went online, each student brought home a pan to continue practicing. In order to record this video, each student had to record themselves playing their part while listening to a reference track. Once each student’s video was completed, Patrick edited them together. He says, “It is a real challenge recording this way and I was very impressed with all the work these students put in.”
