Searching for Truth in Lies: Local Ukrainians React to Russia Conflict, Disinformation Campaign

As everybody watches the developments of the Ukraine-Russia conflict closely, elsewhere online there are forms of disinformation from Russian supporters beginning to populate alongside major news headlines. What’s fact and what’s fiction? 

One Detroit’s Bill Kubota talks with two local Ukrainian American attorneys, Natalia Kujan Gentry and Dan Terleckyj, to learn about their efforts to tell the real stories of the Ukraine-Russia conflict overseas, and their battle to fight back against the misinformation being spread online. Plus, they share the support they’re providing to others and the change they want to see. 

Detroit Police Department, Crime Stoppers Teams Up to Solve Crimes with Detroit Rewards TV 

The Detroit Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Michigan have a new weapon to help them close investigations and solve crimes. The two organization’s new TV show and web program, Detroit Rewards TV, plans to get Detroit residents involved by rewarding them up to $1,000 for anonymously reporting tips that help solve a criminal investigation. The goal, the Detroit Police Department says, is to encourage citizens to speak up if they have information about a crime.

Grocery Stores Remain Hardest Hit by Employee Shortages | Future of Work 

They were America’s frontline workers, but then they called it quits. The nation’s labor shortage has impacted several industries, with workers leaving because of low wages, poor conditions or in pursuit of new opportunities, but one of the hardest-hit industries continues to be retail, especially grocery stores that have seen grocery store workers leave in droves.
