In celebration of Black History Month, TechTown presents: Boss: The Black Experience in Business: A Film Screening and Storytelling Event in partnership with Detroit Public TV and In Good Co.Detroit.

Please join us Wednesday, February 26th from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the Industry Innovation Center for a night of dynamic storytelling–of journeys in entrepreneurship; of finding strength and inspiration in shared struggles and successes. We’ll begin with a screening of select segments of DPTV and PBS’s Boss: The Black Experience in Business, which chronicles the untold story of African American entrepreneurship, where skill, industriousness, ingenuity and courage in the face of overwhelming odds provide the backbone of this nation’s economic and social growth.

We’ll hear from the City of Detroit’s Chief Storyteller and entrepreneur, Eric Thomas, on the importance and power of preserving Black spaces in the city and sharing Detroit’s stories. He’ll even squeeze in a couple Qs&As!

Emcee Shannon Cason from In Good Co., will bring to the mic Detroit-based, African American entrepreneurs and small business owners to share their own stories in rapid-fire succession: leaps of faith, facing fear, and holding onto hope in pursuit their dreams.

This event is free and open to the public. Enjoy free refreshments. RSVP here.

Are you an African American entrepreneur or small business owner in Detroit who wants to share their story?! Follow the prompts when you RSVP for a chance to step on stage. We’ll select people at random from the emailed submissions on the night of the event. Be there and be ready to hit the stage if chosen.
