Earth Day is coming up this weekend and there are a few ways to celebrate, including the Earth Day Fest at the Ypsilanti Farmers Market or an Earth Day Celebration at The War Memorial. There’s also a new exhibit on the history of Detroit’s Jewish community at the Detroit Historical Museum.

  • Wayne State University hosts its 95th Annual Spring Dance Concert at the Hilberry Gateway with performances April 19-21 featuring students from the Dance at Wayne State program. 
  • The Detroit Historical Museum opens “In the Neighborhood: Everyday Life on Hastings Street,” a new exhibit about the history of Detroit’s Jewish on display April 20 – July 14. 
  • The Detroit Opera Youth Chorus presents a production of “Odyssey” on Saturday, April 20 at the Detroit Opera House. 
  • The Ypsilanti Farmers Market celebrates Earth Day this Saturday, April 20 with a free Earth Day Fest featuring fun activities, educational workshops and ways to protect the environment. 
  • The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms hosts an Earth Day Celebration with musical guests Joe Reilly and Friends on Saturday, April 20.  
  • The Stylistics and The Spinners will perform on the main stage at The Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, April 20.  
  • The Planet Ant Theatre in Hamtramck hosts comedian Ben Miller for his comedy show “Stand Up Science Presents: Volcano” on Monday, April 22.  
  • Broadway in Detroit brings the acclaimed musical “Mamma Mia” to the Fisher Theatre April 24-28.
