  • Detroit Public Theatre – Birthday Candles: The play, Birthday Candles, had its world-premiere at the Detroit Public Theatre, and was set to open on Broadway this month. However, its debut was delayed by the pandemic. Christy talks with the Detroit Public Theatre’s producers, the director, and the playwright about the play’s origins, the collaboration that helped it come together, and the future of its debut.
  • Matthew VanBesien, UMS President: WRCJ’s Peter Whorf interviews Matthew VanBesien about how UMS’s season has been affected by the crisis, how they’re connecting with their audiences—sharing the music that helps keep them going through “Quarantunes,” and what performances the 2020-2021 season could include.
  • We close the show sharing a tribute performance of the theme from Star Wars from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra dedicated to hospital workers on the frontlines.
