Tonight on One Detroit:

Christy, Stephen and Nolan are on location at the Detroit Historical Museum.

  • New Citizens: As the national debate over immigration reform continues, One Detroit reports on a naturalization ceremony at Wayne State University that had 25 people from 15 different countries take the oath to become U.S. citizens.
  • Fitzgerald Community: This One Detroit report looks at the changes taking place in Detroit’s Fitzgerald neighborhood, starting with the grand opening of a park created from several vacant lots. The City’s plan for the area also includes rehabbing several homes and tearing down others. Christy, Nolan and Stephen talk about the revitalization project, resident concerns, and whether it can serve as a model for other communities.
  • David DiChiera: In a video report, One Detroit says goodbye to the man who was dedicated to keeping opera alive in Detroit — Michigan Opera Theatre Founder David DiChiera — who passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 83.
