This Week’s COVID313 Town Hall Features:

February marks the beginning of Black History Month, the month when communities come together to celebrate the trailblazing African Americans who paved the way for better roads before them. For Black History Month this year, the COVID313 town hall is recognizing the Black trailblazers who have paved the way for better mental health services in the Black community.

Local historian Ken Coleman joins the COVID313 Community Coalition Town Hall to teach viewers about the African American pioneers of mental health. Plus, the town hall is joined by a parent panel this week, asking experts questions about the mental health services available and how to access them.

Then, the COVID313 town hall shares the latest updates on the COVID-19 Omicron variant. Plus, the town hall closes with a short and simple, yet powerful, yoga routine led by Kimberlii Boyd.

Town Hall Participants:

  • Ken Coleman, Local Detroit Historian
  • Jameel Smith, Ph.D., Certified School Psychologist and Pediatric Psychologist, Wayne Pediatrics
