This Week on American Black Journal:

Host Stephen Henderson will continue American Black Journal’s yearlong series on The Black Church in Detroit with a look at Womanist Theology. The term refers to an approach to the study of God that is centered on the experiences and perspectives of African-American women in the United Stated and throughout the diaspora. Henderson talks with three thought leaders in womanist theology: Rev. Dr. Constance Simon and Rev. Dr. Mayowa Lisa Reynolds, both from Fellowship Chapel in Detroit, and Ashley Lewis, a Master of Divinity student at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary. The four explore the important voice African American women bring to the Black Church and examine what it means to be a Black feminist. It’s a thought-provoking conversation you don’t want to miss.
