Watch bassist Kebra Seyoun Charles’, double bass, winning performance from the 25th annual Sphinx Competition, which was held virtually this year due to COVID-19 safety concerns. Charles, who is originally from Miami, has been playing music from a very early age and has since gone on to receive such accolades as a two-time winner of the Boston Philharmonic’s Youth Orchestra concerto competition and the winner of NAACP’s ACT-SO concerto competition.

Kebra Seyoun Charles has a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and is currently pursuing a Master of Music from the Juiliard School, studying under Joseph Conyers.
