On the next American Black Journal: An early childhood initiative, “Hope Starts Here,” led by The Kresge Foundation and W.K. Kellogg Foundation reaches an important milestone in its mission to make Detroit a city that puts young children and families first. We’ll talk about the massive engagement effort and the framework that’s now in place.  Plus, studies show that young Black males have greater success when they have African-American male teachers. We’ll talk with three committed Black male educators about the need for more men to enter the field of teaching. Original air date: 11/26/17.
