Detroit Federation of Teachers President Terrence Martin joins Stephen to talk about the current state of education and virtual learning during the pandemic. They discuss the immediate needs of Detroit teachers, COVID vaccinations for educators, a learning loss among students, and the possibility of returning to in-person classes in March.  Plus, we’ll have details on a new coffee table book that highlights the achievements and wisdom of African American elders from across the country. Ann Arbor photographer-writer Roohee Marshall talks about the inspiration behind the project, and 84-year-old Detroiter Carole Hall talks about being one of the featured seniors in the book and its importance to Black History.
