As COVID-19 continues to spread, Detroit Public TV and other PBS stations across the state are working to deliver clear, concise information to help community members stay informed. Our friends at WKAR Public Media in East Lansing, Michigan have produced a new special, “COVID-19: Answers and Insight – The Institutional Response” that we believe residents in Southeast Michigan can also benefit from watching.

DPTV has been working to share programming and resources related to education, the arts and ways we can all stay safe during the current crisis. We will continue to help keep community members updated by airing WKAR’s “COVID-19: Answers and Insight – The Institutional Response” on Friday, April 3.

In this 30-minute special, host Shawn Turner, a professor of strategic communication and Michigan State University, and a national security communication analyst for CNN, speaks via remote conferencing with MSU President, Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D., and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Chief Medical Executive and Chief Deputy Director for Health, Joneigh S. Khaldun, M.D.

“COVID-19: Answers and Insight – The Institutional Response” looks at the steps Michigan government officials and other state leaders are taking during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep Michigan residents safe. Watch this informative special when it airs on DPTV – WTVS 56.1 Friday, April 3 at 9:30pm ET, or view anytime on-demand at video.dptv.org.
