Christy, Stephen and Nolan are on location at the international “Murals in the Market” event in Detroit’s Eastern Market.

  • DPSCD Changes: In a taped interview, Christy talks one-on-one with Detroit Public Schools Community District Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti about changes in the district’s curriculum and the creation of a new teacher training initiative. Nolan and Stephen offer their assessment on how DPSCD is progressing under Dr. Vitti.
  •  Crowne Plaza: After Detroit City Council twice rejects plans to add a second tower to Detroit’s Crowne Plaza, the owners have pulled the plug on the new 500-room, 28-story hotel tower. The One Detroit team offer their perspectives on the issues surrounding the project.
  • Nikki’s Ginger Tea: A One Detroit report on entrepreneurs who manufacture a popular ginger tea in their eastside Islandview community, while at the same time helping others start businesses of their own.
  • Murals in the Market:  In this One Detroit report, we meet one of the many artists participating in the 4th annual Murals in the Market in Eastern Market.  His name is Phil Simpson and he talks to One Detroit producer Will Glover about how he uses his art to bring change to the community.
