People are consulting their doctors by computer and smartphone because now the rules have changed. How do you treat people when you have to stay at home? One Detroit’s Bill Kubota looks at how telehealth is working in Detroit and around Michigan.
  • A.C.T. – Acknowledge, confront, and talk: As we have all watched in the past weeks, the horror of George Floyd’s death, the call to end police brutality, crowds demonstrating in across the state, many have joined friends in the black community in support. Sometimes, it’s hard to know the right thing to say – or the best way to lend support. One Detroit’s Will Glover talks with Charity Dean, Director of Civil Rights, Inclusion, and Opportunity for the City of Detroit about where people can start.
  • Can the auto industry bounce back? Autoworkers are back on the line to resume production, but what are the longterm challenges the auto industry is facing? Christy talks with automotive journalist and Autoline host, John McElroy, about the prognosis of the automotive industry in MI, the potential for another auto bailout, and the continued challenges to diversifying Michigan’s economy.
  • Grief and meaning in COVID-19: Grief is a universal feeling, and many are experiencing it over how the world has changed due to the pandemic. David Kessler, world-renowned grief expert and author of “Finding Meaning: The Sixth Stage of Grief” talks with One Detroit’s Christy McDonald about understanding and identifying grief as well as finding meaning in the midst of it.
  • Keeping halal and carrying on during the pandemic: With COVID-19, so many businesses have closed or reduced their operations. Ronnie Berry closed his halal meat shop for a bit, but quickly, he was back open again, deemed an essential service where he’s found his business as busy as ever. One Detroit’s Bill Kubota takes us back to Dearborn to show us what it’s been like to work through the crisis.
