Christy, Nolan and Stephen are at the Solutions Summit: An Educated Michigan event, co-hosted by The Center for Michigan and Business Leaders for Michigan at the College for Creative Studies. At the half-day morning conference, local and national education stakeholders will come together to talk about Michigan’s education performance crisis and what needs to be done to improve student success. The MiWeek team speaks with some of the special guests heading up these discussions, including President & CEO of Business Leaders for Michigan, Doug Rothwell, and The Center for Michigan Founder & Chairman, Phil Power. Plus, Nolan checks in with Eileen Weiser from the State Board of Education about the board’s role in education reform. Christy also talks with Amber Arellano from the Education Trust-Midwest about the strategy for early literacy.
