On the next American Black Journal,

The Detroit chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity celebrates its centennial this year. Stephen talks with the president of the Gamma Lambda Chapter about the men’s commitment to community service and the anniversary gala planned for October. Plus, we’ll get details about a new social media initiative that seeks to change the narrative about African American contributions in the city of Detroit. And, we’ll meet up with a woman who is a cultural icon in Detroit — Lottie “The Body” — as she visits one of the locations where she gained popularity as an African American  burlesque dancer in the 1960s.
