  • Botanical Installations: Lisa Waud is a talented botanical artist. Her botanical installations include large-scale, multi-sensory, immersive works utilize living plants and cut flowers. She has done floral arrangements for the set of Jimmy Fallon and music videos. Lisa’s recent project is Big Flower Friend. The goal with Big Flower Friend is to raise money for Michigan flower farmers. The floral installations take place in open-space outdoor in intriguing places in Detroit.
  • Ken Fischer: Peter Whorf from WRCJ talks with Ken Fischer about his new book, Everybody In, Nobody Out: Inspiring Community at Michigan’s University Musical Society. It’s his memoir of 30 years leading the University Musical Society at the University of Michigan (UMS).
  • Movement II “JUSTICE!”: The Detroit Jazz Festival All-Stars Generations band performed Movement II of JUSTICE! at the Detroit Jazz Festival (DJF) this past labor day. JUSTICE! is a very special piece that opened the festival and has four movements. Each movement was presented by a different ensemble. The performance included a nice diverse mixture of Detroit artists from different generation. Movement II of JUSTICE! is also an original composition by Chris Collins, President and Artistic Director of the Detroit Jazz Festival.
