The U.S. imprisons more people than any other country, but America’s “get tough on crime” era may be evolving, as more people realize the greater societal and economic costs. In a new 60-minute special, DPTV’s One Detroit team explores the forces leading to imprisonment.

Though prison reform is a contentious topic for lawmakers, there are serious bipartisan efforts to bring about positive change. DPTV’s One Detroit special, Pathways to Prison, touched upon these efforts, but the conversation continues to grow in many venues–including our state capitol. In an effort to continue engaging the topic of prison reform, Lansing lawmakers were recently invited to come to WKAR for a special screening of the full-length One Detroit documentary and Q&A session on May 3rd.
