Kemeny Recreation Center’s Back to School Blitz

As part of the Kemeny Recreation Center’s “Fueling Detroit” series of events, the fourth annual Back to School Blitz is scheduled for Friday, August 18, 2023, from 2 to 6 pm. The Center invites students, parents, and community members to celebrate the beginning of a new school year together.
The event is a one-stop shop for things related to going back to school. Attendees will enjoy free carnival rides and games, food, entertainment, free children’s haircuts/hairstyling, and a school supply giveaway. Several local and state organizations will also be on hand to provide information regarding support services and programs to attendees.

The Fueling Detroit program is a continuing effort funded by the Marathon Detroit refinery that focuses on bringing family fun and much-needed resources to the community at monthly events.
