With the continuing protests following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis a question: Can we do better in policing here in Detroit? And what about this defunding talk?

According to Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon, there’s room for improvement. He says citizens have a right to cut funding, but fixing the system actually requires more money and the community has to decide what they want to pay for. Napoleon tells One Detroit’s Nolan Finley the police union has been problem protecting cops he’s wanted to fire. Meanwhile the Sheriff’s Department needs hundreds more recruits and it’s been a struggle finding people to do the job.
