One Detroit, premiering September 13, 2018 at 7:30pm ET is Detroit Public TV’s weekly public affairs program, offering a fresh, new form of local journalism. Our coverage begins with intense, two-way engagement with the communities we serve. Through ongoing relationships, our award-winning journalists work in tandem with people in those neighborhoods to develop a mutual understanding of the issues that matter most to the city and the region, which they pursue with the insight, accuracy and fairness viewers expect from public television.
In this manner, One Detroit is able to tell the authentic stories of our diverse communities during this pivotal period in the city’s history, giving a voice to people who have too long been ignored. Our coverage is Detroit outward, searching for solutions to the pressing problems faced by residents and making connections between Detroiters no matter on which side of Eight Mile they live.
One Detroit is anchored by managing editor, Christy McDonald, who is joined each week by Pulitzer Prize-winner Stephen Henderson and Detroit News editorial page editor Nolan Finley.
I have a research project I been working on 12 long years, unfunded countless hours. I need help with my emergency direct impact love campaign I have here in Detroit I have a project that can really help Detroit
Stephen, Christy and Nolan,
Just a quick thought about a possibility for a future episode. As you likely know from your extensive knowledge of the city, there are two neighborhoods within a mile of each other that each embody the very best of Detroit. One is a beautiful and long established historical community with Detroit’s oldest neighborhood association. I speak, of course, of Boston-Edison. The other beautiful community is just a mile north of Boston-Edison and the architect designed homes are small in size but they are big in heart – and they are truly transforming a small part of the city.. And every year brings more and more of them. These new tiny homes are being built by Cass Community Social Services. The Cass website has several videos that provide further details. One of the videos has been viewed over 40 million times!
Keep up the good work with One Detroit because Detroit is #1.
