On the next American Black Journal,

January is National Mentoring Month and Stephen talks with two organizations that are helping young African Americans develop into future leaders. We’ll talk about The BAR (Brothers Also Read), a fraternal literary-based organization of professional Black males who use the power of reading to mentor young men.  And, Encourage Me I’m Young is helping African American boys develop their natural talents and strengthening the relationship between fathers and sons.

  • To learn about a mentoring program for African American girls, go to the clip below and watch Stephen’s November 3, 2019 interview with I.M.A.G.N.E Mentoring founder Latonya L. Garth.
