On the next American Black Journal,
The National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame gears up for a weekend of activities in Detroit on June 21-23, including its 8th annual Induction Ceremony. Another highlight is the re-naming of Parkside Street to David Ruffin Avenue. Stephen talks with Ruffin’s daughter, Cheryl, along with the founder of the R&B Hall of Fame, former Harlem Globetrotter LaMont “Showboat” Robinson. Plus, award-winning bassist and Detroit native Robert Hurst talks about his upcoming Juneteenth Jazz Concert at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
