On the next American Black Journal, we’ll have the incredible story of Mario Bueno, who turned his life around after a childhood filled with drug abuse, violence and a prison sentence for killing a drug dealer at the age of 16. Today, Mario is a college graduate, an author, and the founder of a non-profit organization that assists returning citizens.  Plus, we’ll remember the life of African American business pioneer John W. Barfield who passed away this month at the age of 90.

Don’t miss American Black Journal on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and again on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on Detroit Public TV, WTVS-Channel 56.
